The lecture narrates some episodes from the production of an \u2018audio drift\u2019, an environmental sound work designed to be listened to on a portable MP3 player whilst walking in a landscape in Scotland that contains a unique series of ruins. Gallagher argues that, as well as representing places, portable audio works can function to shape listeners\u2019 attention and bodily movements, thereby reworking places.
