She studied Art History at  the University of Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts as well as  Economics at Vienna University of Econimcs and Business. Between 2004  and 2009 she worked as a research associate in the field of health  economy. Currently Batista is holding a scholarship of the Austrian  Academy of Sciences (DOC-team) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna  (Institute for Art and Architecture). Her PhD thesis is about \u00bbSound  artists as urban planners &#8211; a look at the cooperation between artistic  and urban practices\u00ab.
